The story behind Project Esty
Why Mariah Sanchez built the school she wished existed.
Mariah did not start out planning to build a school. She started as an esthetician, hands in the work, building a solo business in Washington state. Over more than a decade, she trained, mentored, and grew a community of more than 75,000 women who followed her for one reason: she was the real deal in an industry full of shortcuts.
When Mariah moved her family to Arizona, she expected to find an aesthetics education community that matched the standard she had built her career on. Instead, she saw what most graduates of Arizona schools were stepping into: large, impersonal classrooms. Curriculum that stopped at the state minimum. Instructors who had not touched a treatment table in years. Women paying tens of thousands of dollars to come out underprepared for the realities of the industry.
She decided to build what she could not find. A school where class sizes were intentionally small. Where the curriculum reflected where the industry was going, not where it had been. Where every student trained on top-of-the-line equipment and learned the business side of beauty alongside the science of the skin. A school where instructors were not lecturing from outdated textbooks but actively working in the field they were teaching.
